How the Hiring Process Works

To begin the search for your ideal nanny, please complete the free client application here. Within 48 hours of submitting this application, you will be contacted by the agency to review and discuss the details of your unique childcare needs. Once it has been determined that we can be of assistance, we will send our agency contract (Placement Agreement). The return of a signed contract with a $300 registration fee will initiate the search process.

The Client-Nanny matching process begins after WHN has completed a thorough review of both client and nanny applications to assess compatibility. White House Nannies eliminates 95% of all nannies who apply, thus saving our clients hours of wasted time. Nanny applications are initially screened for qualifications and experience. After meticulous reference checking and an in-person interview with the agency, the names and information of only those candidates deemed suitable for your particular position are referred to you.

We then ask you to review files, call prospective nannies, and set up in-home interviews. We suggest that you call references after meeting candidates. We also recommend second interviews with the most promising candidates. This second visit allows you to watch and assess candidates during a working interview. We ask that you call us with feedback so that we can tailor any additional referrals to your specific wants and needs.

Once a decision has been made and an offer of employment has been extended, WHN secures a background report from an independent investigation company. The report includes a criminal record check, driving record report, SSN verification, education verification, and sex offender check on the nanny candidate selected for hire.

The final decision to hire or be hired is made by you and candidate respectively. We will provide guidance on drafting the nanny contract and will also refer you to our domestic tax experts. Once an employment relationship is established, White House Nannies makes available ongoing support and assistance to both clients and nannies during the term of employment.
