A lovely young family in Arlington, VA is looking for an active and compassionate nanny to care for their two children, a 2 1/2-year-old girl and 12-month-old boy. The mother is at home and is looking for a true professional to work with as a team. This family truly values the contributions of their nanny! They are looking for long-term, and someone who is willing to be part of the family.
They would like someone who has energy and can handle an active 2 year old AND a baby learning to walk. They want someone who will not just watch the children, but who will engage with and teach them. They need someone who can enforce rules, yet be a playmate. They are looking for a nanny who loves going to the nature center, loves being outside, playdates, and is always reading and doing educational activities
They are providing a regular M-F schedule, 9am to 5pm.The family will be paying a competitive hourly rate and overtime. They are also providing medical benefits and paid time off.
Responsibilities
• Care for and engage curious toddlers
• Plan enriching activities beyond basic care, including local outings and adventures
• Cooking for the children
• Assisting the household in: maintaining cleanliness in the toy room & children’s bedrooms; children’s laundry
• Provide educational and developmentally appropriate activities for the children
• Accompany the children at a co-op preschool twice a week
Qualifications
• 5 years full-time professional childcare experience
• Bachelor’s degree or higher
• Early childhood education or classroom experience is a plus!
• Bright, loving and confident interacting with the children
• Trained in CPR and first aid
• A valid passport, driver’s license, and clean driving record
