Who We’re Looking For

White House Nannies represents professional caregivers who are dependable, experienced, and passionate about working with children. We have high standards because our families expect the very best. We staff both long-term and temporary jobs and have different requirements for each division.

Requirements for Long-Term Placements

• Minimum 5 years of professional nanny experience or a combination of relevant college education and verifiable references from non-family members
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• Resides locally in the DC metro area (including Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia)
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
• Fluent in spoken and written English
• Genuine love of children and a passion for childcare
• Willing to commit to a minimum of one year with a family
• Note: Many of our families require caregivers to be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine and booster if eligible.

Requirements for Temporary/On-Call Nannies

• Minimum 3 years of recent professional childcare experience or equivalent education with verifiable references from non-family members
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• Two to three excellent childcare references from previous employers or clients
• Driver’s license preferred but not required
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Genuine love of children and enthusiasm for working with families
• Minimum commitment of six shifts within the first six months of onboarding
