Why Some Parents Are Dreading Summer

White House Nannies Jobs

Apr 21st, 2020

The physical health threat posed by COVID-19 is not going anywhere soon. Organized group activities designed to keep children engaged, active, and learning throughout the summer months are no longer a safe option.

Parents who had planned to send their kids to camp are now wondering what they are going to do. Although many families have muddled through the last couple of months, the lack of a definitive time when they will feel safe is overwhelming and challenging to their mental health. Parents are living in survival mode while also being tasked with thinking creatively to spark joy throughout the day for their children. And now, they have to think about new plans for the upcoming summer months.

We are here to help.

White House Nannies has a menu of services designed to support varying needs – all in a safe one-to-one care model. Both family and caregiver must commit to practicing safe social distancing guidelines by the CDC both on the job and in their personal lives. White House Nannies screens both caregivers and families according to current recommended practice by the CDC. See our FAQs for more details.

Below are a few of our offerings. Please reach out to us at [email protected] or 301-654-1242 with any questions.

  • Part-time Ongoing Care: Best suited for a family that needs at least 20+ hours/week of support but wants the flexibility of not making a summer-long commitment. We will match your family with a caregiver for your desired hours. You can register with our Temporary Division and you pay as you go.
  • Summer Nanny: Our summer nannies are active, bright, and energetic college students and school teachers. Ideal for families with younger children and those looking for daily care assistance with their children’s daily summer activities.
  • Short-term Nanny Educators: Ideal for families with school-age children (4+) whose schooling has been impacted by COVID-19. Our short-term nanny educators are school teachers and college students with relevant experience who will keep your child(ren) engaged and learning from June until August. We have developed this specific program for families that require childcare over the summer but also want to ensure their children are receiving educational support and guidance.
